karnal Bunt, a fungal disease, first reported in 1931 in Karnal, ans so named. the disease attacks wheat and invades the kernel and getting its nutrition from the endosperm and leaves behind waste products, which makes flour unpalatable and of bad odour. The fungus is named Tileletia Indica.
