First arctic Summit was organised by the Economist in Oslo, Noway.
India did not participate in the summit.
Many countries are eyeing vast untapped resources of the Arctic.
India set up a research station Himadri in Arctic in 2008 at Spitsbergen, Svalbard, Norway . It is located at the International Arctic Research base, Ny-Ålesund.
