Cuban missile Crisis
In 1961, USSR( Nikita Khruschev) in fear of US overthrowing Fidel Castro,President of communist rule Cuba, decided to convert Cuba into a Russian base. John F Kennedy, President of US ,ordered american warships to intercept any Russian ships moving towards Cuba. In October 1962, the situation was so delicate that t could have turned into nuclear conflict at any moment.Eventually, both sides showed prudence and Russian ships turned back . Thus Cuban Missile Crisis wa a high point of the Cold War.
