The Carandiru Massacre

The Carandiru Massacre - To suppress a rebellion Police shot 102 prisoners , some at point blank range. Some had surrendered and were naked were also shot.Now, a Brazilian court has sentenced 23 police officers to 156 years each in jail.

Colonel Ubiratan Guimaraes, who commanded the operations to suppress the rebellion, was sentenced to 632 years ! though his conviction dropped as declared a mistrial, he was found dead in his apartment with gunshot injury.
