With a view to add more teeth to the frontline, by relieving men for duties of fighting rebels, Syria has raised a new all women force which form part of National Defence Force (NDF).  This force will be key to Syria's counter insurgency strategy.Lionesses are seen carrying out security operations and manning check points.
