Retrial of Fromer Egypt President Hosni Mubarak
The retrial was aborted today when the presiding judge withdrew and referred the case to another court. After ruling Egypt for 30 years he was toppled in pro democracy protest 'Arab Spring' which lasted for 18 days. He is serving life imprisonment at the age of 84 for not doing anything for stopping the killing of about 800 protesters.
Retrial is based on a report drawn from a fact finding commission appointed by Morsi, present President. Sentiments of relatives of those killed is harshest punishment for Mubarak and even executing him, but most of the judiciary and security forces are largely controlled by people appointed in Mubarak era and people apprehend that there may be difficulty in attaining justice.
