These are drugs derived from plants for internal or external use by men/ animals. Phyto drugs are different from Ayurvedic Drugs as they are processed technically and not traditionally.
After USFDA( United States food and Drug Administration) has issued guidelines to industry for botanical drugs, Indian Drug Regulator has also notified phyto pharmaceuticals also as drugs. The Central Drug control Organisation, the apex drug regulator, is going to amend drug and cosmetic rules to detail separate regulatory procedure for plant based drugs, so that our phyto drugs are accepted globally.
