Laws to protect Leatherback Turtles

 Leatherback Turtles

Leatherback Turtles is a  highly endangered species of turtles,which weigh upto 600 kg and their shell is about 2 Meters long. Puerto Rico has made laws to protect the turtles where thousands of them an their hatchings were crushed by bulldozers removing sand from waterlogged nesting areas.


Puerto Rico, an unincorporated territory the United States, is an archipelago, has pristine beaches and it is likely to be developed as a centre for  eco-tourism . The area has more than 860 types of flora and fauna.

It also has a bioluminiscent bay where microorganism glowing in dark are found.
