Salam Fayyad resigned as a result o dispute between him and the President Mahmoud Abbas.He was Prime Minister of Palestinian authority since 2007. Islamist movement Hamas which controls Gaza has been demanding his resignation. America has recently announced new proposals to boost the Palestinian economy. Fayyad was an obstacle to reconciliation between two main Palestinian factions, Fatah and Hamas
