Much awaited Food Security Bill introduced in the Lok Sabha on 7 August. The bill aims to provide 67 % of population the right to highly subsidised food. The bill promises to give 5 kg of foodgrains to the country's 80 crore people at Rs 1-3 per kg, every month.
