Eras
Eons are divided into smaller time intervals known as eras. Phanerozoic Eon is divided into three eras: Cenozoic, Mesozoic and Paleozoic.
We live in Cenozoic era, which started 65 million years ago. This was the time, when present shape of earth was acquired( before which they were joined together as Pangaea,on e large large landmass).
