Dhrupad

Dhrupad. Dhrupad is the oldest existing form of North Indian classical music.The origin of this music is linked to the recitation of Sama Veda. Dhrupad's purpose is to worship, rather than to entertain the audience.
Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar, represented the 19th generation of the Dagarbani musical tradition.
