Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM)

Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM). ISRO has announced that  Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) will be launched on 28 October as  scheduled. ISRO further  dismissed  suggestions that NASA may not be in a position to offer it deep space network support following government shutdown in the U.S.

NASA has announced that it is going ahead with its own MAVEN (Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN) mission, slated for launch as early as November 18 which  means that NASA would have to keep its DSN operational.  DSN is an international network of antennas that track interplanetary spacecraft missions.

October 28 is the first day of the launch window which remains open till November 19.
