Raul Castro came into power in 2008, when his brother Fedel Castro. He was also a rebel commander. who along his older brother Fidel Castro fought the guerrilla war in 1950s. After Fidel castro taking power, Raul had been a Minister of Armed Forces From 1959 to 2008.in 2008, he was elected President of Cuba after his older brother Fidel Castro did not stand for election due to ailing health.
