As per India State of Forest Report, 2011, the forest cover of India is 6,92,027 Km2. Mizoram has 90.68 % total geographical area as forest cover whereas Punjab has only 3.5 % of its geographical a forest cover. Area wise, Madhya Pradesh has country's highest forest cover ( 77700 km sq) and daman and Diu lowest ( 6 km sq )
