It is seven billion dollar project has faced repeated delays since it was conceived in the 1990s to connect Iran's giant South Pars Gas Field to India via Pakistan.US has imposed sanctions on Iran over nuclear issue and that is why India pulled out of the project in 2009 after signing nuclear deal with with US.
Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas M. Veerappa Moily on 24 March 2013 has said that the Indian Government is in talks with Iran and the United States to discuss sanctions regarding the gas pipeline project.
