Boko Haram

Boko Haram, an Islamist militant group is suspected for attack on Nigerian  Agriculture College. The attak has left 50 students dead. The students were sleeping in their dormitories in hostel. The militant group is against all western education .  A 4 1/2-month-old state of emergency covering three states and one-sixth of the country is already on and military is launching many operations to uproot them.

The Liaoning ,China's first and only aircraft carrier, has carried out major and crucial tests. More than 100 sorties of landing and takeoff by various aircraft, including the J-15 carrier-borne fighter have been tested with full load of arsenals.
The Liaoning was refitted based on an unfinished Russian-made carrier and delivered to the PLA navy on Sept. 25, 2012.

Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), MOM is India's upcoming Mars ( red planet) mission, which will find out there is methane on Mars or not. Methane is considered ' precurser of life'.
 PSLV-C25  would launch the  spacecraft. Once launched from the spaceport of Sriharikota, the spacecraft would go around the earth for 20-25 days before embarking on a 9-month voyage to Mars. The minimum life of the spacecraft around Mars is six months. ISRO is likely to  launch this mission on 21 October.
